THE COLLECTIVE

Tashattot (Arabic for dispersion) is an art collective based in Belgium dedicated to supporting visual artists, musicians, film makers and cultural practitioners at large, originally from the SWANA region and currently “dispersed” in Europe. The collective aims at creating opportunities and collaborations for these expatriate artists.

Through residencies, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and public discussions, Tashattot supports artists in continuing their practices and connecting with local and international scenes.

Tashattot is a work in progress with a fluid and evolving set of actions. It currently is and will always remain open to new ideas and experiences; continuously building on lessons learned and with practice. The collective strongly believes in the efficiency of open discussions, as the only way to grow and better address SWANA expat artists needs and aspirations, it therefore remains open to reviews, critiques, evaluations or any opinions related to its mechanisms.

Matinée x Tashattot: Sary Moussa, SAWT, Monstera Occulta

For their third event at Decoratelier, Matinée has invited Tashattot to curate the evening’s music programme.

Gracing us with their presence:

Sary Moussa

Based between France and Lebanon, Moussa returns with a riveting electro-acoustic album informed by his ever-changing relationships to space, listening, and resonance as well as his growing interest in the study of harmonics in electronic and electro-acoustic music.

SAWT

SAWT (Arabic for Sound) is the alias of Palestinian Brussels-Based producer Kamel Badarneh. Exploring the intersections of Techno, Ambient and Experimental music, SAWT seeks to blend genres and intertwine them harmoniously.

Monstera Occulta

Monstera Occulta is a Brussels-based DJ and sound curator whose work blends post-club fragmen

tation, ambient ritualism, and diasporic resonance. Her sets construct nonlinear sonic spaces shaped by tension, affect, and deep listening — moving between incantation and confrontation, from slow burns to industrial turbulence.

Through distorted bass, glitch textures, fractured voices, and archival material, she explores memory, trance, and silence as forms of resistance. Drawing from SWANA futurism and political poetics, her practice engages sound as both a site of disruption and a mode of transmission.
